The second edition of the TRUSTING newsletter is now online! This issue captures a pivotal moment in TRUSTING’s journey, completing the second year and preparing to move into real-world testing of our speech-based psychosis relapse detection tool.
In the foreword, Work Package 2 leader Professor Wolfram Hinzen reflects on the solid foundations built so far:
- Teams in Groningen, Barcelona, and Tromsø have made significant headway in algorithm development and technical groundwork.
- Work Package 4 in Zürich is finalising the trial architecture, having navigated complex regulatory and coordination challenges.
- The Tromsø team (WP3) has developed the technical infrastructure, while WP1 and WP2 are delivering promising models to identify speech and language patterns linked to symptom prediction.
- Notably, analyses from Groningen and Barcelona confirm that psychosis-related symptoms can be predicted confidently, sometimes using solely acoustic and prosodic speech features.
This edition also includes:
- A recap of our Annual Meeting in Barcelona, where we aligned strategies and advanced trial planning.
- Launches of the TRUSB-P and TRUSB-C webpages that showcase our commitment to meaningful user involvement.
- News on real-world testing, ethics submissions, and TRUSTING’s outreach efforts—including media coverage and AI in psychosis care.
- Reflections on research featured in Nature about voice biomarkers and our team’s involvement, as well as the latest on speech technology in psychosis monitoring.
