What is the TRUSB-P

The TRUSB-P (TRUSTING Project’s User Board – Patients) is a dedicated group of 12 individuals with lived experience of psychosis, ensuring that the perspectives, needs, and rights of service users are fully embedded in the TRUSTING project. Led by GAMIAN-Europe, the board plays a central role in fostering a patient-centered approach by actively collaborating with the clinical board and other project stakeholders.

ROLES AND TASKS

The primary goal of TRUSB-P is to enhance the quality, relevance, and impact of the TRUSTING project from a service user perspective. By integrating the lived experiences of individuals with psychosis, the board looks at:

1 | Understanding and addressing user needs:

The TRUSB-P will provide input on the needs, challenges, and concerns of (potential) users regarding Speech and Language Processing (SLP) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies, ensuring these technologies are developed ethically and with service users in mind.

2 | Co-designing the Randomised Clinical Trial (RCT):

Members will help define RCT components, including key design aspects, methodology refinements, and outcome measures, ensuring that the study remains patient-centered and reflective of real-world experiences.

3 | Shaping strategic communication:

TRUSB-P will contribute to the project’s outreach efforts, ensuring that materials and messages are clear, inclusive, and accessible for lay audiences and citizens.

4 | E-health training and relapse prediction tool:

The board will co-create an educational e-health course and contribute to the development of a speech-based relapse prediction tool. The course will be designed to educate, motivate, and empower service users and caregivers, ensuring that the tool is user-friendly, trustworthy, and accessible in all six project languages (English, French, German, Dutch, Czech, and Turkish).
