The TRUSTING study is driven by a simple yet powerful goal: to improve the lives of people living with psychosis. By analysing short speech recordings, we aim to detect early signs of relapse, offering timely support through something as natural as speaking into a phone. This approach combines cutting-edge science with everyday technology, with the potential to transform how mental health care is delivered.
The TRUSTING study is now entering an exciting new phase as we begin testing the technology in real-world settings. This marks a major step forward, moving from research and development into practical application with people living with psychosis. It’s where innovative science begins to translate into everyday tools that can genuinely improve lives.
As Clinical Trial Manager, Lucia Bautista Borrego coordinates all the practical aspects of setting up and running the study: securing ethics approvals, preparing sites, and keeping the process on track across multiple countries.
A key achievement so far has been submitting the study to ethics authorities in Switzerland, a critical milestone that opens the door to starting the trial. While awaiting for the first approvals, the team in charge is supporting other sites with their local submissions.
Soon, the project will begin collecting data in six languages and move closer to making this tool available to those who need it most.
